Сучасний стан земельних ресурсів характеризується значними за масштабами негативними впливами механічних, фізичних і хімічних чинників внаслідок ведення військових дій та пов’язаними із ними проявами. Проведений аналіз нормативних документів, що регламентують порядок визначення шкоди та збитків, завданих ґрунтовому покриву земельних ділянок забрудненням і засміченням внаслідок ведення військових дій.
