Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • This article has not been previously published, nor has it been submitted for consideration and publication in another journal (otherwise explain this in the Notes to the Editor).
  • The material is presented in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF or WordPerfect format.
  • Internet links are presented as full URLs.
  • The text complies with the stylistic and bibliographic requirements of the Guidelines for Authors, located in the "About us" section.

Author Guidelines

To submit an article for publication, the author can use one of the methods convenient for them:

  • Send to email: khg@kname.edu.ua
  • Submit an article online using the OJS platform (Open Journal System)
  • Come to the editorial office at the address: Kharkiv, Chornoglazivska, 17, room 362, administrative building.

The following documents must be provided:
1. Article text, with all formatting requirements met. 
2. Author information. See a sample author information format below.
3. Recommendation for publication from a doctor of science.

After confirming the acceptance of the article for printing, information will be sent to your email regarding the payment of the organizational fee in the amount of 75 UAH per page of text, drawn up in accordance with the requirements, and a template of the license agreement that must be filled out. After payment, it is necessary to send a copy of the document on payment of the organizational fee. Files sent to the email must be named according to the sample: Article_Petrenko, Application_Petrenko, Invoice_Petrenko. 

 Typing requirements:

Sheet format: А4 (21,0 cm × 29,7 cm).

 Page settings (margins): left – 2,25 cm; right – 2,25 cm; top – 2 cm; bottom – 2,5 cm.

 Article font: Times New Roman; font style – straight; size – 10 pt, line spacing (multiplier) – 1,1.

 Manuscript size: from 5 sheets

 Article language: Ukrainian, English

 Subtitle (size – 12 pt): font style – bold; no indents; alignment – ​​centered; separated from top and bottom by 6 points.

 Article text is arranged in two columns of the same width – 8 cm, the distance between the columns is 0.5 cm; indentation of the first line of a paragraph – 0.75 cm; alignment – ​​by width.

Do not use text formatting spaces, tabs, etc. Do not set manual word wrapping, do not use headers and footers. Put a non-breaking space between the value of the quantity and its unit of measurement (Ctrl + Shift + space).

 ATTENTION! The last page of the article is filled at least 3/4 full.

According to the resolution of the Higher Attestation Commission of Ukraine dated 15.01.2003 No. 7-05/1, the text of the article should have the following structure: a statement of the problem in general terms and its connection with important scientific or practical tasks; an analysis of recent research and publications on which the author relies; a statement of the purpose of the article (statement of the task); a presentation of the main material of the study with a full justification of the scientific results obtained; conclusions from this study and prospects for further research in this direction

 The text of the article is divided into appropriate sections with subheadings, which are highlighted in bold.

 On the last page of the article, after the list of references, information about the authors and the translation of the title of the article, the authors' surnames, place of work (study), annotation and keywords into Ukrainian and English (except for the main language of the article) are given according to the example (10 point, line spacing - 1.0).

  1. Article title requirements:

No more than 10 words, does not contain abbreviations, strictly corresponds to the content of the article.

  1. Requirements for abstracts in Ukrainian:

At least 1800 characters, does not contain abbreviations

Informativeness (do not contain common words)

Originality (not a tracing of the Ukrainian-language annotation)

Content (reflects the main content of the article and research results)

Structure (follows the logic of the description of the results in the article).

At least 1800 characters, does not contain abbreviations

  1. Keyword requirements

No more than 10 words (words, not phrases), do not contain abbreviations, are given in the nominative case, separated by commas

  1. Requirements for formula design

To type formulas, the MathType formula editor is used.

References to formulas in the text have the form (1), (2-4).

Formulas must be numbered.

Numbering is aligned to the right.

A formula is part of the text, so a semantic sign must be placed after the formula: if a new sentence follows, then a period; if an explanation follows, then a comma.

  1. Requirements for drawing design

Color and background images are not allowed (the journal is printed in black and white).

Figures must be presented in JPG format.

Before the figure in the text, a reference to the figure of the type Fig. 1, Fig. 2-4, Fig. 5 is mandatory.

Figures must be accompanied by centered captions (size – 10).

The caption of the figure looks like - Fig. 1. Title of the figure.

If the figure shows a dependence or graph, then the caption to the figure must decipher all the symbols, including the coordinate axes.

It is allowed to place large figures, formulas and tables in one column (up to 16.5 cm).

  1. Requirements for the design of tables

Before the table in the text, there must be a reference to the table of the type table 1, table 2-4, table 5.

The table title (10 point) is mandatory.

The table caption has the form – Table 1. Table title.

The content of empty cells in the table header is not allowed.

The table location is strictly vertical.

If the table in your document is broken into several pages, you must specify “Continuation of table 1”, the table title is not required!

  1. Requirements for formatting references to literary sources in the text

References to literary sources have the form [1], [2 - 6], [1, 2, 6].

References should be in the order they are mentioned in the article.

All literary sources listed in the Literature section must be cited in the text of the article.

  1. Requirements for the list of sources in the Literature section

The list of references is highlighted with the subtitle “Literature” and is formatted (size – 9 pt, italics) in accordance with the interstate standard DSTU GOST 7.1:2006.

There must be at least 10 sources.

The list of references must contain at least 6 references to foreign sources.

The use of GOSTs and national standards in the list of references is unacceptable.

The percentage of self-citation is no more than 30% (i.e. if you used 10 references, no more than 3 of them can be to your own works).

  1. Requirements for the list of literature in English (References)

The list of references, written in the language of the article, should be translated into English.

References should be written in APA style.

  1. Requirements for preparing a recommendation for printing

The recommendation for publication must contain:

1. Full title of the article, position of the author of the article, full name of the author.

2. Brief description of the problem to which the article is devoted.

3. The degree of relevance of the submitted article.

4. The most important aspects disclosed by the author in the article.

5. Recommendation for publication.

6. Academic title, academic degree, position, place of work, full name of the person providing the recommendation for publication, seal, signature.
