IMPROVING ENERGY EFFICIENCY IN LIGHTING INSTALLATIONS

Authors

Abstract

The authors suggest using high pressure high pressure discharge lamps (DNaT-type, high-pressure sodium lamps, 35-100W) in different illumination equipment in order to increase its efficiency and optimize power consumption. Known problem of this solution is low reliability of the lighting and limited lifetime. It is addressed by using brand new combined starting and current control device, which reliably starts the discharge process in the lamp, ensures absence of acoustic resonance and non-symmetric discharge, provides stable illumination, and protects electrodes surface from the extra emission by controlling current. Illumination equipment produced by suggested schedule must be very efficient and reliable devices with long lifetime.
